ARTS IN PROVENCE
Welcome to the Arts in Provence Blog. This is a blog about life in Les Bassacs, a small hamlet in the South of France, where we organise summer painting courses. You can find out about the courses by going to our website.

Just when you think winter is finally over . . .

17 centimeters of snow fell on Les Bassacs yesterday - I rushed out to measure it - the most snow we have had here since 1993.  David and I always try to be first to make our tracks in the virgin snow.  This time we were beaten to it by our neighbour Robert who walks his dog at 6 a.m.

On our walk it was still gently snowing, there was little sign of wildlife, a few birds flitting around searching for food and the beautiful almost invisible trace of a hare which had made its way through the cherry orchard below Croagnes.

  1. You have certainly beaten us with the quantity and quality of snow.. Our snow has been lacking in staying power and depth.

  2. You have even beaten us with the amount of snow this year. That pic of Croagne is just beautiful!
